It was a bug we faced with 9.2.0.5 and it required "based on the bug number " getting the one-off patch. Of course, that was also fun as the one-off patch instructs you to use the PERL installed with Oracle (which didn 't work we ended up using /usr/bin/perl with success) - installing the opatch software, etc. BTW, I did look to see first if the patchset 9.2.0.6 was out......so.....
I wondered if Oracle even does regression testing anymore because this problem was not present with 9.2.0.4.
BEWARE - EITHER GO TO 9.2.0.4 OR WAIT TILL 9.2.0.6 would be my advice ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE RUNNING 64-BIT ORACLE ON SOLARIS 2.9
